The Jewish Federation of Broward County invites the Broward Jewish community to come together during this most difficult time following the kidnapping and murders of three Israeli teens and a Palestinian teen, Hamas firing hundreds of rockets at Israel's civilians from Gaza, and Israel launching Operation Protective Edge to give Israeli citizens the safety and security they deserve. Israel cannot tolerate a situation in which millions of its citizens are forced to live under a barrage of missiles. We express our unyielding support for Israelis who are living under terror from rockets fired at Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Beer Sheva, Ashkelon, Sderot, Ashdod, and many other cities and towns. Israel’s actions are directed at the missile launchers and the terror infrastructure of Hamas and the other terrorist organizations which have turned the Gaza Strip into the center for attacks against Israel. In our Broward Jewish community, tensions are running high with strong emotions, so we ask you to join us for Community Reflections to help us all get through this together on Monday, July 21, from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Posnack JCC in Davie. We will hear from Israel Consul General Chaim Shacham, Rabbis, a Cantor, and two of our visiting Israeli teens from our Partnership city of Nesher who are the same age as Naftali and Gilad were when they were killed with Eyal. As the days and nights unfold with our hearts and minds focused on Israel, take action and express your support for Israel through social media on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtags #israelunderfire #protectiveedge and speak to your family, friends, neighbors, and business associates to rasie their awareness, and write a letter to the editor of local newspapers to educate the broader community.
