In Ezra 8: 21 Ezra called a fast for direction and protection because God's people were carrying great wealth for the house of God. In verse 21 .... "that we might afflict our selves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substances."
God is faithful, stay close to him and he will stay close to you. Ezra wanted to show God as a faithful God to his people in the eyes of the Persian king. In verse 28 Israel was given the word of confirmation; in which God said ... ye are holy unto the Lord, the vessels are holy also". After that God gave them instructions of how they should walk safely to do his work. Psalms 20:6,7. The Lord saveth his anointed he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. some trust in chariots and some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
